The target of the project is the development of an innovative prototype of reactor fed with renewable-source electricity for catalytic reactions towards the chemicals green manufacturing. A shift from fired- to electrically-heated catalytic reactors, powered by renewable sources and coupled with a significant process intensification, will contribute to the greening of large industries. The prototype to be developed within the project will be tested in a relevant industrial process. The main innovation involves the innovative re-design of the reactor in parallel with the development of novel catalysts, as well as integration of up and downstream processes to operate with optimal energy efficiency and product yield.
Type of partner sought: The Andalusian SME is looking for demonstrator partners to test the new innovative reactors and catalysts in the chemical industry. Particularly, the coordinator is interested in small, medium and large companies especially from the chemical, petrochemical sector. Other sectors of application could be pharmaceutical, plastics, paintings, fuels, etc. that have catalytic processes and reactor that are currently heated with fossil fuels.
Task to be perfomed by the partner sought: Validating the developed innovations within the project (electrically heated catalytic reactors and materials) in the production line at industrial scale. Monitoring, testing and validation tasks in real conditions within the factory. The results need to be compared against the current processes (conventional heated reactor by fossil fuel) to proof the feasibility of the innovative technologies.
Consortium: The Andalusian company will coordinate the proposal. Within the consortium, there are already involved experts on catalyst materials, manufacturers, technology developers and specialist on circular economy.
